Over 54,500 flights delayed over 10 months nationwide
VOV.VN - Four domestic carriers, namely Vietnam Airlines, VietJet Air, Bamboo Airways, and Vietravel Airlines reported 54,563 delayed flights, or 25.8% of their overall flights, during the first 10 months of the year.
The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) revealed on November 13 that the primary cause of these delays was late aircraft arrivals, accounting for 15.2% of the figure, while airports’ infrastructure and services made up 0.8%.
The four airlines operated a total of 211,874 flights throughout the reviewed period, including 841 cancellations.
Bamboo Airways had the highest rate of on-time flights at 83.3%, with 11,840 out of 14,214 flights being punctual between January and October.
This rate for national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines wasat 82.6%, with 75,232 out of 91,035 flights departing on time.
Low-cost airline VietJet Air had 57,815 on-time flights.
On average, the overall on-time departure rate for all airlines stood at just 74.2%.
In October alone, Vietnamese airlines operated 17,847flights, achieving an on-time departure rate of 74.6%. Despite this, 4,532 flights were delayed, representing 25.4% of the total for the month.
