Over 3,940 COVID-19 cases confirmed on May 12
VOV.VN - A further 3,949 fresh COVID-19 infections were reported in Vietnam on May 12 to raise the national tally since the start of the pandemic to 10,690,471, according to figures given by the Ministry of Health.
Dak Lak reported the highest number of daily infections with 1,251 cases, followed by Hanoi with 509 and Bac Ninh with 346.
Quang Ninh provincial Department of Health added an additional 2,550 cases to the National COVID-19 Case Management System after reviewing sufficient information.
The COVID-19 death toll has been recording a consistent decline over recent times, with three cases being confirmed over the past 24 hours to take the overall number of fatalities to 43,063.
A total of 7,441 COVID-19 cases were declared to be free from the virus on May 9, thereby bringing the number of recoveries so far to 9,334,964.
As of May 11. the country had injected over 216.3 million COVID-19 vaccine doses, including 2,118,136 first shots for children aged five to 11 years old.
The Ministry of Health has requested that provincial and municipal health departments and relevant units continue to urgently give the third dose vaccination for people aged 18 years and older, thereby ensuring completion in the second quarter of the year as directed by the Government.
