Over 200 prison administrators gather in Hanoi for Asia-Pacific conference
VOV.VN - The 41st Asian and Pacific Conference of Correctional Administrators (APCCA 41) opened in Hanoi on November 13, bringing together more than 200 directors of prison administrations from 25 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

In his opening speech, Major General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister of Public Security of Vietnam, outlined that the conference has made important contributions to improving international cooperation in prison management, education, and rehabilitation of prisoners.
He expressed hope that delegates would actively exchange experiences and feasible solutions which are appropriate to the reality and the situation of each member state in order to constantly improve the overall efficiency and quality of prison management, as well as the education and rehabilitation of prisoners.
Shie Yong Lee, head of the Singaporean delegation, said that the function is expected to provide solutions in order to help prisoners better integrate into the community and to contribute to reducing crime, thereby creating a healthy social environment for the development of each country and the region as a whole.
The APCCA is an annual event that features the participation of the directors of prison administrations of countries in the Asia-Pacific region, starting in 1980.
This is the second time the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam has hosted the conference that is set to last through to November 16.
