Over 18,000 people join Terry Fox Run
(VOV) - More than 18,000 people from HCM City and adjacent provinces on November 29 took part in Terry Fox Charity Run at Phu My Hung urban area, District 7, HCM City.
Since the first launched in Canada in 1981, the annual event has been held in more than 60 countries attracting millions of people from throughout the globe to raise funds for cancer research and treatment.
All proceeds and donations from this year’s run will be dedicated to cancer research activities in Vietnam.

Last year’s event in Vietnam drew 16,500 runners and donated VND1.3 billion which was spent on an oral cancer early diagnosis project in the country for 2015-2016.
The TFF in Canada also selected Vietnam for implementing the initial period of a VND2.5 billion cancer research project.
