Only four COVID-19 patients under treatment in Hai Duong hotspot

VOV.VN - The northern province of Hai Duong, the country’s biggest coronavirus hotspot, has gone through three weeks without new locally transmitted coronavirus cases, and 722 out of 726 positive cases detected during the recent outbreak have been discharged from hospital.

According to the Hai Duong Centre of Disease Control, there are now no F1 and F2 cases in the locality. The remaining four active cases in hospital are responding well to treatment therapy, said local doctors.

Hai Duong, a gateway to Hanoi capital, has recorded 726 out of 910 locally transmitted cases registered nationwide since the virus recurred in January 2021. With drastic preventive measure in place, the fresh outbreak has been brought under control in Hai Duong, as well as 12 other localities across the country.

The province is currently carrying out its COVID-19 vaccination campaign, using the AstraZeneca vaccine. The Ministry of Health has allocated 33,000 vaccine doses to the locality and is set to distribute an additional 10,700 doses in the coming month.

The provincial administration requested on April 15 that relevant agencies implement COVID-19 control and prevention measures as part of the “new normal” situation.

Activities will take place as normal, and only non-essential services at risk of spreading COVID-19, such as bars, karaoke parlours, and nightclubs, continue to be closed.
