Norwegian Red Cross helps increase disaster response capacity
The Norwegian Red Cross (NRC) has provided more than US$7 million to help 21 localities nationwide cope with natural disasters and improve environmental hygiene over the past 21 years.
According to the Vietnamese organisation, thanks to the NRC’s assistance, a project worth about VND16 billion (US$704,000) has been carried out in 15 communes of the northern mountainous provinces of Ha Giang and Lao Cai, and central Nghe An province since 2015.
The project has aided more than 176,000 locals, helping them reduce the adverse impacts of disasters and improve their livelihoods.
