Noi Bai Airport officially deploys A-CDM model to reduce flight delays

VOV.VN - Noi Bai International Airport, the largest in northern Vietnam, will officially implement the Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) system on February 1 in a bid to deal with flight delays.

The system is set to help improve data and coordination between relevant agencies as a means of providing clear, accurate, and transparent information. It will also forecast different eventualities and maximise airport operations, contributing to reducing delays and providing a better experience for travelers.

The A-CDM system was piloted at the airport for the second phase between July 25 to October 31, 2023, helping 28,000 flights to operate safely within the designated time frame.

According to a representative of the airport, after two testing phases, the Target Off Block Time (TOBT) of each flight reached an average rate of 98.7%, while the Target Start Up Approval Time (TSAT) of each flight gained an average rate of 96.2%.

Furthermore, the A-CDM testing showed promising results in reducing taxiing and turnaround times. The aircraft’s roll-out time for take-off at the airport decreased to 13 minutes during the testing phase, which was three minutes less than the average recorded in 2022 before the implementation of A-CDM.

The average taxi-in time from actual landing on the runway to reaching the stand was reduced to seven minutes, a one-minute improvement in comparison to the pre-test average.

The representative shared that the implementation of A-CDM not only benefits passengers with improved travel experiences, but also contributes to cost savings and more efficient flight operations, including the handling of luggage and cargo services.
