Nobel laureates, scientists gather in Binh Dinh

VOV.VN - Science has been at the forefront of human development since the caveman days and its importance to society now is greater than it has ever been at any time in history, says the Vietnam Ministry of Information and Communications.

At the 9th 'Meeting Vietnam'
To examine the impact of science on society the Ministry has announced that an international high-level conference will be held from June 26-July 12, inclusive, at the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science and Education in central Binh Dinh Province.

The conference will find 250 leading scientists from around the globe in attendance, including seven Nobel laureates, looking at the many aspects of the links between science and society – strengths, weaknesses, benefits, pitfalls and possible future directions.

Highlights of the event will be talks by Nobel Prize Winners Professor Kurt Wuthrich and Professor Trinh Xuan Thuan with students in Quy Nhon City providing their intriguing insights into the scientific world.

Professor Kurt Wuthrich will also meet students at the University of Science in Hanoi on July 15 and Nobel Laureate Professor Finn Kydland will on July 12 hold talks with students at the National Economic University.
