Nine illegal Chinese entrants test negative for SARS-CoV-2 virus
VOV.VN - Nine Chinese citizens who illegally entered Vietnam recently have tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, said a health official of Quang Binh province where these citizens are in quarantine.
A Vietnamese national who led the group also tested negative for the virus, Nguyen Duc Cuong, director of the Quang Binh provincial Health Department, told local media outlets on April 6.
Preliminary epidemiological investigations show these Chinese citizens hailing from Fujian, Guizhou, Hunan, and Shandong provinces crossed the border into Vietnam on April 1.
After arriving in Hanoi on April 2, they immediately took two taxis to Quang Binh without stops on the way.
Tipped off by local residents, relevant agencies quarantined the group and took their samples for COVID-19 testing, with the results coming back negative.
The agencies also disinfected two hotels where the group were staying and the two taxis.
Currently, the nine Chinese citizens and the Vietnamese national are in quarantine at a local hotel for medical surveillance. They are in stable health condition, without any virus symptoms such as a fever, a cough, or shortness of breath.
Local authorities are completing procedures to extradite these citizens to their home country.
