Nice weather anticipated over Christmas, New Year
VOV.VN - All three regions of Vietnam are forecast to enjoy nice weather, perfect for entertainment activities during Christmas, while spells of rain and sunshine are expected in the south, with extreme cold set to hit the north over the New Year.
According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, temperatures between Dec. 23 and Dec. 25 in the northern region are expected to fluctuate between 13 and 16 degrees Celsius.
Most notably, the lowest temperatures are predicted to hit northern mountainous regions, ranging between 7 and 12. The highest temperatures in northern localities such as Lai Chau, Dien Bien, and Son La will hover around between 18 and 25.
The capital of Hanoi is poised to witness clouds and scattered showers, with lows ranging between 15 and 17 and highs of between 18 and 20.
As a result of the intensified cold air, both the north and north-central provinces are expected to see rains and spells of extreme cold in the opening days of January, 2021.
Furthermore, there will be scattered rains and cold spells in the central region, with temperatures ranging between 15 and 23.
There will also be spells of rains and sunshine in the Central Highlands and the southern region, with the lowest temperatures in the Central Highlands reaching between 18 and 21, while the lowest temperatures in the south will be between 22 and 25.
