Nghe An reburies remains of 98 volunteer soldiers and experts found in Laos

VOV.VN - The Nghe An province’s People’s Committee held a memorial service and funeral on May 15 for the reburial of the remains of 98 voluntary soldiers and experts who died while on duty in Laos during the wartime.

The funeral took place at NghiLoc district’s martyr’s cemetery in central Nghe An province with attendees including representatives from the Vietnam and Laos Ministries of Defense, leaders of Military Region 4,and local authorities.

The sets of remains were discovered in the Lao provinces of Xiang Khouang, Vientiane, and Xaysomboun during the 2017-2018 dry season.

Many of the volunteer soldiers and experts are unknown and as yet unidentified.
