VOV.VN - A new heat wave is expected to return to the northern and central regions of Vietnam, with daytime temperatures likely to rise to 39 degrees Celsius, according to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.

The warm air mass will first hit northern localities on June 28 and then spread across northern and central localities on June 29, said meteorologists.
Notably, the extremely hot conditions will linger over parts of the central region, with daytime temperatures to climb to 39 degrees Celsius or more.
In the capital city of Hanoi, June 29-30 and July 1 will be the hottest days, with temperatures to leap to 37-38 degrees Celsius.
The new hot spell is forecast to last till first days of July, said meteorologists.
El Nino is likely to change to a neutral state with a probability of 80 - 85% from now until the end of June 2024, and ENSO will gradually shift to the La Nina state with a probability of 65 - 75% from July and August.
The average temperature across the country from now until July 10, 2024, is usually 0.5-1°C higher than the average for many years.
Heavy rain, thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, and hail may negatively impact production and daily activities of communities in affected areas.
