Nestlé Vietnam announces partnership with government to nourish children
Nestlé Vietnam announced its participation in the national programme "Enhancing the Stature and Endurance of Vietnamese People for the period 2011 – 2030” on September 26, on the occasion of Nestlé’s 150th anniversary.
Nestlé Vietnam is going to work together with the Vietnamese government in designing the programme to increase the number of sport programmes in schools and the number of hours playing sports at schools and outside schools, and establish an evidence base for community health and education policy interventions to determine their impact and effectiveness.
Ganesan Ampalavanar, managing director of Nestlé Vietnam, said that the participation shows Nestlé’s commitment to nurture a healthier and more active future generation in Vietnam.
“Nestlé Vietnam is a local multinational company with a vision to be the leading company in nutrition, health and wellness in Vietnam and as such has the responsibility, capability and will to make an important contribution to enhance the quality of consumers’ lives in Vietnam through its products,” he said.
Nestlé has over 340,000 employees worldwide. In Vietnam, Nestlé operates five factories nationwide with more than 2,000 employees.
“Nestlé was founded with the determination and commitment of its founder Henri Nestlé ever since he created his Farine Lactée infant cereal to save the life of a baby 150 years ago. And that remains our mission today – to be the trusted recognised leader in Nutrition, Health and Wellness,” said Peter Vogt, deputy executive vice president of Nestlé S.A.
