Negative results for F1 and F2 cases related to COVID-19 cases in Ho Chi Minh City

VOV.VN - All of the F1 and F2 cases who either came into direct or indirect contact with the four latest novel coronavirus (COVID-19) patients in Ho Chi Minh City have tested negative for the virus, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control.

The centre stated that a total of 2,916 samples have been taken from F1 and F2 cases, along with those in the community, with 2,528 of the samples coming back negative for COVID-19.

At present, a total of 384 people in the community, including teachers and students, have had their samples taken as part of COVID-19 testing with their results impending.

With regard to medical quarantine, a total of 865 individuals have been put into isolation, of which 295 cases have been sent to centralised quarantine facilities, 566 self-isolating at their residences, and four being placed in medical facilities.

According to the Ministry of Health, the total number of positive cases for SARS-CoV-2 in Ho Chi Minh City has reached four so far. Since December 2, the southern city has not recorded any fresh infection cases within the community.

Dr. Nguyen Tri Dung, director of the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control, said that all four COVID-19 patients remain in stable health conditions and are not showing any abnormal symptoms.

Patient No. 1342 is displaying some mild symptoms such as fatigue, a blocked nose, a sore throat, sputum production, and a decreased appetite, while the remaining three patients No. 1347, No. 1348, and No. 1349, are currently asymptomatic.
