Nearly VND250 billion raised to support Cuban people
VOV.VN - The national donation campaign in support of the Cuban people had received nearly VND250 billion, almost four times higher than its initial target of VND65 billion, according to the Vietnam Red Cross Society, as of noon on August 16.

Launched on August 13 to mark the Vietnam–Cuba Friendship Year and the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties (1960–2025), the campaign drew a strong response nationwide. Within just 30 hours, contributions had surpassed the target of VND65 billion. Three days later, donations had reached nearly VND250 billion.
Nguyen Hai Anh, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, said the result reflects the solidarity and enduring friendship between the two nations, as well as the Vietnamese tradition of gratitude toward those who once supported them.
He noted that the Vietnam Red Cross is working closely with the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam, the Cuban Red Cross, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and relevant agencies to ensure the funds are delivered to the Cuban people in a timely, transparent, and effective manner.
The 65-day campaign runs from August 13 to October 16.
