Nearly a tonne of ivory seized at Hanoi house

According to a report from Hanoi Police Department, 971 kilos of ivory and products made from ivory were found at the house of a family in Khanh Ha Commune on February 6.

The owner of the ivory is a 52-year-old woman, Dinh Thi Nhuong, who said she hired the house to keep the ivory which is used for producing fine arts and jewelry including necklaces, bracelets or statues.

Police are investigating the origins of the ivory.
