Nearly 600 cyber attacks in November
As many as 597 cyber attacks were launched on Vietnam’s websites in November 2017, according to the Vietnam Computer Emergency Response Team (VNCERT).
Of the number, there were 248 phishing attacks, 232 cases of defacing and 117 cases of malware attacks.
According to software companies, 63.19% of computers in Vietnam are affected by harmful software, while the figure is 21.61% for mobile devices.
Deputy Director of the VNCERT Nguyen Khac Lich said no websites of State agencies with the domain name “gov.vn” were attacked in the period. The team has also warned all agencies whose websites were attacked amid increasing cyber attacks.
The Authority of Information Security will submit a draft guidance for implementing the law on export and import of information security products to the Ministry of Information and Communications.
It has also completed a draft Prime Minister directive on prevention of malicious software in Vietnam and devised plans to hold cyber security drills with other ministries.
