Nearly 20,000 poor children receive free heart disease screening
(VOV) -The Support Association for Disadvantaged Women and Children in Da Nang and district health centers provided free heart defect screening for more than 20,000 disadvantaged children in 2015.
The Association raised funds of roughly US$150,000 to cover surgeries for 62 children.
Vice President of the Association Nguyen Thi Van Lan says 70 poor children with heart defects will receive free surgeries next year.
“We have worked with the Department of Health and district health centers to provide poor children with disease screening. We brought those suffering from heart diseases to Da Nang hospital for examination, diagnosis and treatment scheme,” Lan said.
