National Employment Exchange debuts to boost digital labour matching

VOV.VN - The Ministry of Home Affairs on April 14 launched the National Employment Exchange, a digital platform connecting job seekers, employers, employment service providers and state agencies nationwide, aiming to build a modern, transparent, flexible and efficient labour market.

Vietnam’s labour force currently includes more than 53.6 million workers, alongside nearly one million enterprises and millions of production and business establishments, cooperatives and household businesses.

Developed to address fragmented labour data and weak connections between workers and employers, the platform at www.vieclam.gov.vn marks a concrete step in implementing Party and Government policies on science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.

The Ministry assigned the Department of Employment to lead the project in coordination with relevant agencies and Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group, ensuring data integration, system connectivity and information security.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Home Affairs Do Thanh Binh described the platform as a key digital infrastructure for a transparent and market-oriented labour system, helping better match supply and demand.

Designed as a unified nationwide network, the system links central and local authorities. It enables state agencies to manage and regulate the labour market more effectively, improve employment services and support policymaking.

For state agencies, it serves as a tool to manage and regulate the labour market, improve employment services and support policymaking on labour, jobs and social security. For localities, departments, job service centres and related agencies are integrated on a single platform to share data, organise job matching and support workers and businesses.

For job seekers, the platform expands access to opportunities beyond administrative boundaries, offering AI-powered recommendations, online applications and virtual job fairs. For businesses, it helps reduce recruitment costs and shorten hiring time by providing access to a nationwide talent pool.

Business representatives also welcomed the initiative. Nguyen Hai Minh, vice chairman of the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham), said foreign companies often face difficulties in finding suitably skilled workers, particularly in high-tech manufacturing, digital industries and logistics.

He noted that demand is not only about quantity but also about job readiness, adding that the new platform is a major step forward in Vietnam’s digitalisation efforts. If developed effectively, it could serve as a breakthrough labour market infrastructure, improving job matching while reducing recruitment time and costs for businesses.

Ko Tae Yeon, chairman of the Korea Chamber of Business in Vietnam (Kocham), described the launch as “an important starting point” for Vietnam’s labour market and employment service system.

From a business perspective, he said human resources are closely tied to overall production, from product quality and delivery schedules to long-term investment plans. The Korean business community expects the platform to enhance connections between employers and workers, thereby strengthening confidence in the labour market.

Authorities said the platform would standardise labour market data, improve governance efficiency, help track workforce trends and make job access more open, transparent and convenient.
