More than 290 Vietnamese citizens arrive home safely from Malaysia

VOV.VN - Over 290 Vietnamese citizens arrived home safe and sound on November 15 on a flight arranged by Vietnamese authorities, the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia, national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, in coordination with Malaysian competent agencies.

The passengers on board included pregnant women, the elderly, sick people, children under the age of 18 and those with underlying health issues, guest workers with expired contracts, and other people in extremely difficult circumstances.

The Vietnamese Embassy sent staff to the airport to assist the citizens with necessary boarding procedures ahead of their departure.

Vietnam Airlines strictly carried out in-flight security and disease prevention measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.

All crew members and passengers underwent compulsory medical checkups and were put into isolation in line with regulations regarding COVID-19 prevention and control after they landed at Tan Son Nhat international airport.

More repatriation flights are set to be conducted in the time to come to bring home Vietnamese citizens with disadvantaged circumstances, depending on their need, the epidemic containment situation and domestic quarantine capacity.
