More space needed for white-hat hackers

Founded in 2013, Vietnam’s first forum for cyber security research community, the whitehat.vn, which is commonly known as a forum for “white-hat hackers”, has more than 31,000 members.

The forum has provided not only a healthy playground for cybernauts, but a place for them to exchange knowledge and legal issues in the field of cyber security.

Cyber security has caused concern among Vietnamese youngsters, however there is still a lack of professional training environment for internet security sector.

In early March, two teen hackers were reported to attack several domestic airports’ websites. The incident raises an alert about the lack of suitable environment for youngsters to bring into full play their talent.

According to experts, it is necessary to have more playgrounds for cyber security lovers. Those playgrounds are not only the environment for white-hackers to exchange their knowledge, but also help better up cyber security in the society.
