Mong Cai police rescue trafficked Vietnamese woman

VOV.VN - Police operating in Mong Cai city in the northern province of Quang Ninh have announced that they have co-operated alongside their counterparts in Dongxing city of China to rescue a Vietnamese woman who had been trafficked into China.

According to initial information regarding the case, the woman was persuaded by unknown smugglers to go to the norther neighbour for a high-paid job when she was just 17 years old. However, upon arrival she was sold to a Chinese man who was seeking a wife.

In late 2023, she eventually found a way to contact to her family in Vietnam via social media after previously enduring several failures. Her family immediately informed the police and asked for their help.

The woman has since successfully been safely sent back to her home in the nation thanks to the work of police forces in the two countries.
