MoH warns of Japanese supplements after health damage
VOV.VN - The Vietnam Food Administration under the Ministry of Health (MoH) issued a warning on March 25 about the recall of several supplement products of Japan’s Kobayashi Pharmaceutical Co. after reports of health damage suffered by users.
According to Japantimes, the Japanese drugmaker announced that it is moving to voluntarily recall a line of dietary supplements containing beni kōji fermented rice after reports of kidney problems affecting 13 people, including six who required hospitalisation.
It also called on any customers who bought them to stop taking them immediately.
The Vietnamese food safety watchdog revealed that one of three recalled products, Kobayashi Naishi Help 30, is currently on sale in Vietnam at a price of VND600,000 to VND1 million per bottle.
The products were advertised as having health benefits by lowering bad cholesterol, blood pressure, and visceral fat.
