Meanwhile, 12 provinces and cities reached vaccination rates between 90% and 95%, with Hoa Binh province having a rate below 90%, and efforts are ongoing to vaccinate children who had postponed their shots.

The Ministry of Health has actively mobilized resources to ensure timely and sufficient vaccine supply for localities. Based on requests from local authorities, the Ministry has issued a plan for the second round of the 2025 measles vaccination campaign, to be conducted across 54 provinces and cities (excluding Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Ca Mau, Kon Tum, Long An, Soc Trang, Ben Tre, Kien Giang, and Bac Lieu, which have already completed the vaccination in 2024/first round of 2025).

The campaign will target children from 6 months to under 9 months old and children aged 1-10 who have not received the full required measles vaccinations, with the target of achieving over 95% coverage.

According to the Department of Preventive Medicine, the Ministry of Health has been closely monitoring the progress of the campaign in localities. The Ministry has organized two online meetings with all 63 provinces and cities to provide guidance and ensure the swift and efficient completion of the campaign by March 31, 2025, emphasizing timeliness, safety, cost-effectiveness, and high quality.

Additionally, the Ministry of Health has issued directives and guidance to speed up the vaccination process and has deployed six inspection teams to monitor and support the implementation of the vaccination campaign in 25 provinces and cities from March 20 to 31.
