50 worker couples join mass wedding in HCM City after years of waiting
VOV.VN - Fifty worker couples from disadvantaged backgrounds have officially tied the knot at the 2025 Mass Wedding Ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City, with some having waited as long as 16 years for this long-anticipated day.
The event, jointly organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Youth Worker Support Center, took place on October 24 with support from local enterprises and organizations.
The participating couples are employees at industrial zones, enterprises, and schools across Ho Chi Minh City, with several hailing from neighboring provinces such as Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau.
Before the official ceremony, the 50 couples offered flowers to President Ho Chi Minh and received their marriage certificates. They also enjoyed a special journey to the venue on “green” public transport, including metro and river bus.
Since its inception in 2007, the program has helped more than 1,200 worker couples make their wedding dreams come true.
More than a humanitarian initiative, the “Mass Wedding Ceremony” gives couples the opportunity to fulfill their dream of a heartfelt wedding and spreads the spirit of mutual support and compassion.
