Malaysian court postpones DPRK citizen’s death-related hearing

A Malaysian court in Sepang district of Malaysia’s Selangor state postponed a hearing for two women suspected in the death of a Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) citizen to May 30.

Judge Harith Sham Mohamed Yasin announced the postponement on April 13.

The hearing was postponed due to lack of documents. As such, the case was not transferred to the Shah Alam High Court for a joint trial.

Deputy public prosecutor Muhammad Iskandar Ahmad said that they need additional one month and a half to complete necessary documents.

Earlier, the two suspects - Vietnamese national Doan Thi Huong, 28, and Indonesian national Siti Aisyah, 25, were taken to the courthouse under heavy security.

The DPRK man, named Kim Chol, took place at Kuala Lumpur International Airport on February 13. At the court on March 1, the two women were charged with murder but they denied and said that they were cheated to take part in an innocuous prank.
