Made-in-Vietnam cholera vaccine to be shipped abroad
As many as 10,000 doses of oral cholera vaccine manufactured by the Company for Vaccine and Biological Production No1 (VABIOTECH) under the Ministry of Health (MoH) will be exported to the Philippines, according to the company’s Director Do Tuan Dat.
Dat said experts from the World Health Organisation (WHO) will revise the quality of the vaccine in order to include it in the global vaccine stockpile.
In Vietnam , about 200,000 doses are used every year under the national expanded immunisation programme to prevent cholera in vulnerable areas, he added.
