Long An police arrest 12 illegal immigrants
VOV.VN - Ben Pho Border Station of Vinh Hung district in Long An province stated on March 25 that border forces have detained a total of 12 foreign nationals who entered the country illegally.
This comes after border guards discovered a suspicious group of 12 people at 5:30 a.m. this morning. The group consisted of 10 males and two females and were spotted when forces were on duty at KT10 area in Ca Trot hamlet of Khanh Hung commune.
Upon being questioned by local police, the foreign suspects claimed to have illegally entered the nation on March 20 through the northern border area. They were subsequently caught while attempting to cross the border in order to enter Cambodia for the purpose of finding employment.
Police have since transferred all of them to a local quarantine camp whilst a further investigation gets underway.
Since early this year, police forces in Long An have detected a total of 19 cases relating to groups illegally passing through the country’s borders.
