Lightning strike kills one, injures six in Central Highlands
VOV.VN - A farmer was killed and six others hospitalised on April 14 after they were struck by lightning in their field in the Central Highland province of Kon Tum.
According to the People's Committee of Dak Nong commune of Ngoc Hoi district, the farmers were harvesting cassava when the thunderstorm struck.
They then hid themselves in a hut located in the field for protection. Unfortunately, the lightning hit the hut, killing one 34-year-old woman on the spot and injuring six others.
All of the injured victims were brought to the hospital to receive treatment.
On April 15, four of the six injured individuals were discharged, while two remain hospitalized with serious injuries and are receiving intensive medical care.
Local authorities have visited the victim’s family to offer condolences and support.
