Leaders congratulate outstanding teachers on Vietnam Teachers’ Day

On November 20, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited a number of educators, who have greatly contributed to the country's education and congratulated them on Vietnam's Teachers' Day.
They are emeritus pianist Thai Thi Lien, one of the founders of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, well-known writer Vu Tu Nam, and sculptor Ta Quang Ba, who won the State Award for Literature and Art.
On the occasion, President Tran Dai Quang sent flowers congratulating Professor Vu Khieu and pianist Thai Thi Lien. They are among the outstanding teachers, who have made outstanding contributions to the cause of education in Vietnam.
Earlier on November 19, Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan visited outstanding teachers on the 35th anniversary of Vietnam Teachers’ Day.
During a visit to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Hoang, former Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, at his home.
Nhan said the city will adopt more programs on high quality human resource development to meet international integration needs.
Hoang said, “I am very happy that we observe the Vietnam Teachers’ Day to remember the merit of teachers. Many of my students visit me on this day and I feel very moved. This is also an opportunity to meet my former students. They all respect their teacher no matter what position they hold.”
The same day, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam attended a ceremony in Hanoi marking the 35th Vietnam Teachers’ Day and the 40th anniversary of the Post-graduate Training Institute of the National Economics University.
He praised the institute’s achievements of training thousands of PhD and MA degree holders, who have contributed to national construction and defence.
