Large-scale int’l charity bazaar comes back in late November

The Consular Club HCMC - representing Consular Missions in HCMC - will hold its 23rd annual International Charity Bazaar on November 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the White Palace Convention Center in HCMC’s Phu Nhuan District.

This year’s event will feature over 60 booths from 16 countries to sell goods and food items for a good cause.

Visitors can buy tickets at VND50,000 each for a raffle draw to win valuable prices including vouchers for deluxe resorts and hotels in many sought-after destinations throughout Vietnam, spa packages, and lunch or dinner vouchers in luxury restaurants in HCMC, among others.

Every prize in the raffle has a value of at least US$100.

The organizer told the Daily via an email that the event is expected to lure 2,200 to 2,500 patrons.

Last year’s charity bazaar which attracted 2,000 people helped raise VND1.4 billion to support 16 charity projects and organizations, including the donation of desks and benches for Thien My B Primary in the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang, Tet gifts for poor households in HCM City, hospital beds for a nursing house in the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang; support for St Joseph’s Orphanage and Free School in Bien Hoa City and Binh Trieu Development Centre and Binh An Development Centre in HCMC, among others.

The funds raised at this year’s bazaar will be used by the Consular Club for charity projects to be implemented in 2017 to improve the quality of life of the most disadvantaged groups mainly in HCMC and surrounding provinces.
