Large-scale drone light show in Hanoi canceled following rehearsal incident
VOV.VN - A drone light show which had been scheduled to take place on the Lunar New Year's Eve on the night of January 28 at the My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi, has been canceled following a rehearsal incident, the organising board has said.
During a rehearsal on January 26, several drones fell from the sky and burst into flames near the stadium. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
After assessing safety concerns, the Nam Tu Liem District People’s Committee decided to cancel the drone light show, which was originally expected to set a Guinness World Record for the largest such performance.
The show was part of the artistic program “Rực Rỡ Thăng Long 2025” (Brilliant Thang Long 2025), celebrating the arrival of spring under the theme "Radiant Springs." The programme is designed to showcase Hanoi's historical and cultural heritage through music, theater, and modern interactive performances.
The event will feature well-known artists performing a blend of traditional and contemporary elements, highlighting the cultural identity of Thang Long – Hanoi.
It is expected to attract millions of spectators, both in person and via television and social media platforms.
