Lao drug trafficker arrested in Ha Tinh

VOV.VN - Local law enforcement forces of the central Ha Tinh province arrested a Lao drug trafficker on March 18, who was caught in possession of 15 kg of amphetamines worth VND4 billion.

According to local authorities, the drug ring was discovered in the process of trafficking drugs from Laos to Vietnam through an unofficial channel.

Thao Cu Mua, 30, admitted to smuggling 15 kg amphetamine which he had hidden in 16 tea bags to a drug dealer for a payment of US$120,000.

A further investigation into the case is underway.
