Lang Son police halt women illegally crossing Chinese border

VOV.VN -Police in Lang Son province successfully stopped a group of eight women illegally crossing the border from Vietnam into China border on October 9.

Police on duty in Pan village of Bao Lam commune in Cao Loc district stopped a suspicious car that was travelling from the Huu Nghi border gate to the border area close to Bao Lam commune.

Upon conducting a search of the vehicle, police discovered eight Vietnamese women, aged between 15 and 18, hidden inside the car.

The women said that a couple had arranged for them to illegally cross the border into China.

The couple were later identified as Lo Thi Dien, 33, of Chieng Sinh commune, Tuan Giao district, Dien Bien province, and Giap Van Long, 32, of Viet Lap commune, Tan Yen district, Bac Giang province.

Once under questioning at the police station, the couple confessed to the crime of human trafficking.

Police forces are currently further investigating the case.
