KOICA helps Vietnam build land data system

The Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has pledged to provide US$3.5 million in non-refundable aid for Vietnam to set up a multi-purpose land data management system from 2013 until 2014.

Under the deal signed in Hanoi on November 2 with the General Department of Land Administration under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the KOICA will help integrate land data systems across the country from the central to local levels, transfer its land survey technology, and offers training to technical and administrative personnel.

Da Nang and Bac Ninh, home to many foreign investors’ projects, will pioneer the integration of land data.

The Vietnamese Government is focusing its efforts on amending the Land Law and build a land data system after the RoK’s model for 63 provinces nationwide by 2020.
