Khanh Hoa provides training for more than 4,200 fishermen
The central province of Khanh Hoa will allocate VND8.7 billion (US$382,821) to provide vocational training for more than 4,200 fishermen by 2020.
The province’s fishery sector will focus on training fishermen working on ships with capacity of 90 CV and above.
Local fishermen will receive free training. Half of them are currently working on ships with capacity of 400 CV and more, which were built using Government incentives to support fishery development.
According to the provincial People’s Committee, the training aims to provide knowledge on efficient fishing to fishermen, raise efficiency while following State regulations on protecting seafood resources and ensure safety for fishermen and their vessels.
In 2010-2015, Khanh Hoa province earmarked nearly VND6 billion (US$264,014) to provide training and issue certificates for more than 3,200 local fishermen.
