JICA to help further education and training in Vietnam

VOV.VN - The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will continue closely cooperating with Vietnam in the field of education and training, Shimizu Akira, chief representative in Vietnam of JICA assured Vietnamese Education Minister Nguyen Kim Son in Hanoi on March 16.

2023 marks 50 years of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Japan, and education-training is a key pillar in bilateral cooperation, even in the coming decades, Akira noted.

He expressed hope that the cooperation ties between JICA and the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam will further grow, especially in implementing JICA-funded projects in Vietnam.

Son thanked JICA for supporting human resource development projects as well as scientific and technological research cooperation programmes for sustainable development in Vietnam in general and in the education sector in particular.

He expected that Akira in his new role in charge of JICA’s finance would continue to promote Japanese cooperation with countries, including Vietnam.

The two sides exchanged views and agreed to resolve a number of problems arising in the implementation of the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship by Japanese Grant Aid (JDS).
