Japanese training ship visits Da Nang

VOV.VN - The training ship Suzunami of the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force docked at Tien Sa Port in Da Nang on March 31, beginning its four-day official visit to the central city.

The 230-member delegation, including officers and sailors and led by Captain Mizuno Tatsuhito, will pay courtesy visits to the Da Nang People’s Committee and Naval Region 3 Command.

They will also engage in joint training exercises with Vietnam’s Naval Region 3 Command and various maritime supply service activities.

The visit is taking place as part of bilateral cooperation between the naval forces of the two countries. It aims to strengthen the friendship and mutual understanding between the naval forces of the two sides.

The ship is equipped with surface-to-surface missile systems and HOS-302 torpedoes on both flanks that are capable of searching and attacking nearby submarines at close range.
