Japanese professor receives honorary doctorate

VOV.VN - Prof Hitoshi Yamada from Japan’s National Yokohama University received an honorary doctorate from Danang University on March 22 in recognition of his ‘inspiring leadership’ and contributions to the institution’s development.

"We are delighted to honour Mr Yamada with the highest commendation Danang University confers," said Director Tran Van Nam. "He is a remarkable individual and very deserving of this recognition."

Yamada is a leading expert in Japan’s construction industry. He has also greatly contributed to the development of the industry in Vietnam, said Director Nam, in particular through his expertise and assistance with cable-stayed bridge projects.

Previously, in 2013, the Vietnam government presented Mr Yamada a certificate of merit for his contribution in the nation’s primary, secondary and tertiary education systems.
