Indonesian navy ship makes port call in Hai Phong city

The Indonesian Navy's ship KRI Bima Suci on August 26 docked at Tan Vu port, starting its four-day courtesy visit to the northern city of Hai Phong.

During the visit, the ship's officers and crew members are scheduled to pay courtesy visits on leaders of the Naval Region 1 Command under the Vietnam People’s Navy and the Hai Phong municipal People's Committee.

At his reception, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong expressed his pleasure at the visit, saying that it takes place at the time the two countries are making preparations for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties (December 30, 2025).

He briefed the guest that the city has welcomed some Indonesian working delegations, including a mission of the Indonesian Ambassador to explore and promote cooperation between Hai Phong and Indonesian localities and partners, and another of Indonesian President Joko Widodo to make a field trip to VinFast electric vehicle manufacturing complex as part of his state visit in early this year.

Hai Phong, as Vietnam's largest northern port city, has attracted foreign direct investment (FDI), including an US$11 million investment from Indonesia's IML Technology Vietnam, he added.
