Indonesia promotes sea tourism in Chinese Taipei

Indonesian Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya said his country will promote sea tourism at the Taipei Tourism Fair in Chinese Taipei, which takes place from June 17-19.

Yahya said the number of tourists visiting Indonesia is still low in regard with its huge tourism potential from around 17,000 islands of various biodiversity and coral reefs.

The Southeast Asian country’s sea tourism sector set its goal of achieving 4 million tourists by 2019.

In order to realise the goal, the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism will continue promoting sea tourism and nature tourism via overseas activities.

Indonesia is heading towards its goal of drawing 13.5 million tourists in 2017 with a revenue equal to 15% of the gross domestic product and 13 million jobs created.
