Indian naval ship visits Vietnam

VOV.VN - The Indian Coast Guard Ship SAMRAT moored in Vietnam on October 23 for a 5-day visit to the High Command of the Vietnam’s People Navy, based in central Danang City.

The Indian Coast Guard Ship SAMRAT visited Vietnam in December, 2012.
SAMRAT commanders and officers will also meet with the High Command of Military Zone 5 and Danang municipal leaders.

SAMRAT members and those of Navy Zone 2 High Command will conduct joint mock-up drill, maritime search and rescue, and sport games.

The visit signifies solidarity and friendship between the people and armed forces of the two nations, providing a good opportunity for soldiers to share experience and deepen mutual understanding.

This is the second visit to Vietnam by SAMRAT and the fourth by the Indian Coast Guard’s vessels. Over recent years, the Vietnam Marine Police Department and the Indian Coast Guard have worked hand in hand in improving law enforcement at sea.
