India, Vietnam bolster co-operation on digital communication

VOV.VN - The nation and India have signed a Letter of Intent on co-operation in digital communication and electronic information management between the two countries within the framework of the official visit to India by National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.

The signing ceremony took place on December 16 in New Delhi during a working session held between Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung and Indian Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Singh Thakur.

The two sides shared the policies and regulations of each country regarding digital communication, as well as experience in handling violations and solutions aimed at promoting the healthy development of cyberspace.

As a means of further developing the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, both ministers also agreed to jointly ramp up communication, whilst supporting media agencies to exploit and effectively utilise each other's information. This can be done as a means of reporting more about their respective nation’s development situation, thereby boosting mutual understanding.

As the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between both sides approaches in 2022, the two countries will jointly launch a string of activities. This includes exchanging delegations of reporters, organising workshops to share experience in digital transformation in terms of journalism and broadcasting, the management of social networks, and the prevention of fake news.
