Hundreds of parents carrying their children line up to be tested for tapeworm at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases (NHTD) at 3:00 a.m. This comes after news broke that 57 children from the Thanh Khuong Kindergarten in Bac Ninh province were found to have been infected. |

The origins of the story began late last month when pork suspected of being infected with parasites was found in a school’s kitchen. The pork was supplied by the Huong Thanh Company. |

Although the provincial Department of Health planned to offer free blood tests for students of 19 kindergartens which used pork provided by Huong Thanh Company, many parents took the matter into their own hands and rushed to Hanoi so their children could undergo testing. |
