In photos: 700 kg of crystal meth seized in Nghe An
VOV.VN -Police in the central province of Nghe An have seized 700 kg of crystal meth and are currently seeking the ringleader of a major drug trafficking organisation.

A total of 23 white bags suspected of containing crystal meth were found on the roadside of National Highway 48B, Quynh Thuan commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province, on the morning of April 17. Quynh Luu district’s local police department seized the bags and, on inspection, confirmed that more than 700 kg of crystal meth were hidden inside. |

| Upon making the discovery police forces expanded the case, launching a search of a warehouse in Quynh Hong commune of Quynh Luu district later that afternoon. Following the search, they discovered 50 cabinet loudspeakers and carton packages that had previously been used to store and hide drugs in. |

| Police forces were also able to arrest four suspects and confiscate additional evidence at the warehouse. |

According to Nguyen Manh Hung, deputy director of the provincial Police Department, the drug trafficking organisation was being operated by foreign nationals. The police force are now hunting these foreign traffickers. |

| In recent times, the police had noticed a number of local suspects with links to foreign drug traffickers trading and transporting a large quantity of drugs. |

| Many suspects have been under surveillance for a long time. Upon noticing the police, some of the traffickers abandoned 700kgs of drugs on the roadside of National Highway 48. A further investigation into the case is underway. |
