Houses swept away by flash floods in north-central Vietnam
VOV.VN - Rescuers were scrambled on Friday, July 21 to reach areas in the north central district of Ky Son in Nghe An Province hit by flash flooding with at least nine houses swept away after torrential rain caused rivers to burst their banks.
We are not hearing any reports yet of serious injuries, said local officials, and that’s a good thing.
Heavy rains over recent days from tropical storm Talas have overwhelmed the region. Particularly hard-hit areas are along the Muong Tip, Muong Ai and Ta Ca rivers where extensive flooding has led to landslides.
Ky Son leaders have issued a call for more volunteer rescuers to come to the region to help victims of the flash floods.
