Hoang Thuc Hao - A most exciting Vietnamese architect

VOV.VN - South Asia is a land under construction with billions of US dollars being spent annually on all types of building projects— with architects clamouring to make their mark in the region.

Now a range of local talent is stepping forward to export their aesthetic talent abroad.

In celebration, we take a look at architect Hoang Thuc Hao who designed the Gross National Happiness (GNH) Centre that opened late last year in Dewaling, Bumthang.

Bhutan is located in South Asia. It is bordered to the north by China and to the south, east and west by India.

The GNH Centre is built on 1,500m2 of land. It includes a meditation hall, conference hall, administrative block, dining hall, kitchen and two staff quarters.

The meditation hall has capacity to hold 200 people.

The conference hall can provide 100 seats.

The centre is designed to combat the hard weather.

The meditation hall follows the traditional architecture of Bhutan.

The window system is well-designed to receive rays of sunlight.
