Ho Chi Minh City signs deal to build smart tourism ecosystem
VOV.VN - The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and Arobid Technology Joint Stock Company on April 22 signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at developing a smart tourism ecosystem in the southern hub.

The partnership focuses on supporting businesses in their digital transformation and promoting a digital and green economy through the application of blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI). The goal is to build an innovative and sustainable business community as well as an e-government in the city.
Under the deal, Arobid will develop and manage digital exhibitions for key events, including the International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC 2025), and coordinate tourism stimulus programs throughout the year.
The two sides will also work together to build an online job exchange platform to address workforce needs and improve the quality of human resources in the tourism sector.
Le Truong Hien Hoa, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Tourism, said the industry is aligning with the city’s development orientation by actively adopting technology and helping businesses enhance trade capacity.
In the context of digital transformation, he said, partnerships with e-commerce and digital payment platforms are essential for advancing smart tourism. He also expressed hope that digital platforms will reduce costs and expand cooperation opportunities by connecting domestic and international partners more effectively.
In the first quarter of 2025, Ho Chi Minh City welcomed over 1.6 million international visitors, up 18.2% year on year. Domestic tourist arrivals exceeded 8.5 million, a 6.3% increase compared to the same period last year.
