Ho Chi Minh City police receive four Vietnamese deported from Cambodia
VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City Police on May 6 said they had coordinated with relevant units to receive four Vietnamese citizens handed over by the Cambodian side at the Tinh Bien border gate in An Giang province, southern Vietnam.
According to initial information, the individuals were found to have violated laws in Cambodia in connection with online scam operations, illegal employment and illegal entry. Before leaving Vietnam, they had registered residences in Ho Chi Minh City.
During the screening and classification process, municipal police discovered that one of the returnees, Trinh Quang Khai, born in 1994, was wanted by police for intentionally inflicting bodily harm.
Khai was transferred to Ho Chi Minh City Police for further handling and escort back to the city in accordance with the law.
For the remaining three cases, immigration officers determined that one individual had illegally exited the country. In accordance with legal regulations, the Tinh Bien International Border Guard Station issued an administrative penalty.
After the handover process, the citizens were taken to Ho Chi Minh City for further investigation in line with regulations.
Ho Chi Minh City Police said the reception and coordination process was carried out in accordance with procedures, helping strengthen immigration management and maintain public security and order in the city.
They also urged people to remain vigilant against individuals and organisations seeking to lure Vietnamese citizens to Cambodia through online advertisements for “online jobs” and “light work, high salary” schemes.
