Heavy rain in northern provinces brings risk of flashfloods and landslides

VOV.VN - Heavy downpours on July 28 increased the risks of flashfloods and landslides in many areas of northern localities such as Yen Bai, Phu Tho and Hoa Binh.

The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has issued a warning about the risks of flashfloods and landslides in these localities over the past days.

Heavy rain continued to fall in the provinces of Phu Tho and Yen Bai from 4am to 6am on July 28. Forecasters predict that there is a high risk of a spate of flashfloods and landslides in the districts of Yen Binh, Van Yen, Thanh Son and Tan Son over the next six hours.

In the next three hours, flashfloods and landslides triggered by heavy rains are most likely to occur in the districts of Kim Boi and Mai Chau in Hoa Binh.
